Luke Mayhew

Luke Mayhew is a Non-Executive Director of Platinum One.

Luke Mayhew is a Londoner who spent his career in senior executive positions with John Lewis, British Airways and Thomas Cook as well as serving as a non executive director on a number of large businesses.
He is a self confessed football fanatic with a particular love of Arsenal FC.

“When I was approached about joining the board of Platinum One I was sceptical. Football is a passion for me but as a fan I had a poor opinion of “agents” and all those who purport to represent players. What convinced me was the model which puts the interests of players first, which focuses primarily on recruiting and managing the careers of young players which by definition means fee income is limited in the early years and, most of all, I was really struck by the quality of the team. The company’s determination to put the player first is not just spoken – it is lived by the executives in the field”.

Luke was a board director of John Lewis Plc; WH Smith Plc; is a current non executive of DFS [Dfh] Plc; and Intercontinental Hotel Group Plc. He was Chairman of the British Retail Consortium and Pets at Home Ltd.
