Fintan Drury

FD4Fintan Drury is CEO and Founder of Platinum One Group.

Back in ancient times CEO, Fintan Drury, played in the Premier League in Ireland and since 1990 he has been involved in working with predominantly Irish footballers including household names like Steve Staunton (Liverpool and Aston Villa); Liam Brady (Arsenal, Juventus, Inter Milan); Pat Bonner (Glasgow Celtic); Kevin Moran (Manchester United); Liam Miller (Celtic, Manchester United, Sunderland) and Ronnie Whelan (Liverpool). He was the first Irishman licensed by UEFA as a player agent and after working in professional golf and rugby over the last two decades re-established the football only model for Platinum One a number of years ago.

Fintan is an FA and FAI Licensed Intermediary, is accredited to work with Minors and he continues to be actively involved with the team in the management of many of the company’s clients.

The regulations have been strengthened over the years and the football agency world is better now than it used to be but there continue to be many operators whose primary objective is to maximise their financial returns – even if that is at the cost of their clients. Having corporate standards when many others don’t means it can be a frustrating business sometimes but Platinum One is committed to being successful through the excellence of its management of excellent players. There can be no short cuts.”

Fintan founded, developed and then sold what is Ireland’s premier corporate and financial Public Relations business, Drury Communications. He was Chairman of Paddy Power Betfair Plc; Hostelworld Plc; Mainstream Renewable Power; and RTÉ (Ireland’s public service broadcaster), and a non-executive Board member of Anglo Irish Bank Plc.

Fintan’s other current business interest is Mainstream Renewable Power (MRP) one of the world’s largest independent developers of renewable energy. MRP’s Chairman on its foundation and for the first 4 years of the business, Fintan recently returned to the company’s board to assist with its global expansion in offshore wind and solar.
