As the heatwave came to an end this week, so did the transfer window, concluding a busy period for Platinum One.
Early summer moves for Dean Parrett to Gillingham and Reise Allassani to Coventry City were followed by new contracts for Alan Sheehan at Luton Town, Derrick Williams at Blackburn Rovers and Kadell Daniel at Dover Athletic. Meanwhile, Graham Burke moved from Shamrock Rovers to Preston North End and Oscar Gobern signed for Eastleigh FC after leaving Yeovil Town.
Two #TeamPO strikers joined the ambitious Salford City as they aim for back-to-back promotions, Rory Gaffney from Bristol Rovers and Adam Rooney for Aberdeen, and both have already chipped in with goals for the National League outfit.
The ‘Turkish Messi’ Erhun Otzumer transferred from Walsall to Bolton Wanderers and England U21 international Ezri Konsa took the step up a division in moving from Charlton Athletic to Brentford.
Later in the summer, Diallang Jaiyesimi signed on loan for Yeovil Town from his parent club Norwich before Jake Hessenthaler joined Grimsby Town and Luke Norris transferred to Colchester United from Swindon Town. Elsewhere, both Patrick McEleney and Georgie Kelly moved to Dundalk from Oldham Athletic and UCD respectively, and Dominic Thompson signed his first professional contract with Arsenal.
A couple of key Championship moves marked the end of the window for Platinum One, with James McClean joining Stoke City as they hope to bounce back into the Premier League and Duane Holmes securing a transfer to Derby County on deadline day from Scunthorpe to help Frank Lampard’s side’s bid for promotion.
Everyone at Platinum One wishes them all the best for the coming season!
