It has been an extremely busy summer transfer window for Platinum One to date, and this week we secured another move for one of most-sought after young talents, PFA Young Player of the Year – Ollie Watkins.
Ollie’s move to Brentford from Exeter City follows the transfers of Will Hughes (Derby County to Watford), Kevin O’Connor (Cork City to Preston North End) and Ethan Pinnock (Forest Green to Barnsley) among others.
For Ollie, the move to Brentford comes after a largely impressive season for Exeter, where through netting 16 goals, he helped the Grecians reach the League Two Playoff Final at Wembley, as well as being named PFA Young Player of the Year.
Accompanied by Platinum One’s Paolo Vernazza, Ollie put pen-to-paper on an initial four year deal with the Bees, and was understandably delighted at sealing the move to the Griffin Park.
“Players always want to test themselves at the highest level they can,” said Ollie. “That is the aim. I want to play at the highest level I can for as long as I can and Brentford have given me that opportunity and I am very grateful to them for that.”
