Oztumer and Stevens named in PFA Teams of the Year

Platinum One players Erhun Oztumer (Walsall) and Enda Stevens (Portsmouth) have been selected by their fellow professionals for this season’s PFA Teams of the Year.

Erhun, who joined Walsall from Peterborough United in the summer, has enjoyed a tremendous season with Jon Whitney’s side, scoring 14 goals in League One, including two wonder-strikes against Bolton and Swindon Town.

The 25 year-old, dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’, is Walsall’s sole inclusion in the League One selection.

For Enda, it is his second Team of the Season award, having been included in the EFL Team of the Year earlier this month. Former Aston Villa full-back Stevens has been a key part of the best defence in the league, as Portsmouth have conceded just 38 times in their 43 games to date.

The 26-year-old Dubliner has been a mainstay in the side this season, starting 42 league games and scoring one goal. As a result, he has been selected on the left side on the Team of the Year’s defence.
